Hudson Valley Law Firm Frequently Asked Questions Videos

What is the likelihood that I will have to go to trial?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

The vast majority of personal injury cases are settled prior to trial. Now, that doesn’t mean you don’t prepare every case for trial. In our office, once we start a lawsuit, we anticipate that your case is going to go to trial, and your case is prepared as if that will occur. We retain experts when necessary, we speak with your treating doctors when necessary and we obtain their opinions and diagnosis concerning the extent of your injury. Once we have that information and the opposing party realizes that we are prepared to go to trial, that’s typically when the case will be settled and it will be settled on your terms, on our terms, not on the defense terms.
