Contingency Fee

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

When you’re involved in an accident, whether it be a car crash, fall down, construction accident, dog bite case, most of those cases involving personal injury, lawyers will take on what’s called a contingency basis, that means you don’t pay the lawyer for the time he spends on your case. He only gets paid if he recovers money for you, so if you are injured under almost any type of scenario, you should speak to a lawyer, find out if they do handle cases on a contingency fee basis and then proceed and have them represent you that way. That way you don’t have to put money out of your pocket, you don’t pay them an hourly rate, you only pay your lawyer if her recovers, or she recovers money for you.
